NICHOLAS LAZARUS

Nicholas read law at the National University of Singapore and was called to the bar in 1998. Nicholas brings with him 25 years of dispute resolution experience and has successfully represented a range of clients in the Court of Appeal, High Court and State Courts. Before becoming a director at Justicius Law Corporation, Nicholas was part of a leading building and construction law team helmed by industry experts. As part of the team, Nicholas regularly handled large quantum disputes, many of which stretched into the millions.

Nicholas was appointed an Adjudicator under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payments Act in 2009. As an Adjudicator, Nicholas has presided over numerous cases, most of which involve large quantum disputes. Many of his decisions have been cited positively in the annual Singapore Construction Adjudication Review. Nicholas is also on the panel of adjudicators at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (Malaysia) and the Hong Kong Institute of Constructions Adjudicators.

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, Nicholas was appointed by the Ministry of Law as an assessor under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act.

Nicholas is an empanelled mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and the Law Society Mediation Scheme.

Nicholas taught family and business law at Nanyang Polytechnic from 2002 to 2008. Ever since 2017, he has been an advocacy trainer with the Singapore Institute of Legal Education.

Nicholas was a volunteer lawyer at the Woodlands Legal Clinic. Nicholas was also a Court Volunteer Mediator.

Nicholas was previously on the School Advisory Committee of Woodlands Ring Secondary School.

Since 2013, Nicholas has been an independent director of Kori Holdings Limited.
